Interview with Katherine Chang and Dr. Elizabeth Koebele

Just in time for winding down from all the great panels at the 2021 Midwest Political Science Association conference, a discussion with Katherine Chang, (University of Washington), and Dr. Elizabeth Koebele (University of Nevada - Reno) on their recent NPF paper exploring school voucher policy narratives in Nevada. We touch on topics including the challenges around extracting narratives from legislative testimony, the study’s key findings on heroes and villains, and how do they help us refine our understanding of the Angel-Devil shift in policy narratives, and the incorporation of the new “self-characterization” code and its relationship to the traditional NPF characters (Hero, Villain, Victim).
